However, a lot of them somehow <\/span><b>manage to forget the password<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. In a situation like this, <\/span><b>using Android Device Manager to unlock your phone is by far the best solution<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But how can this be done? Well, this is what we\u2019re here for!<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What\u2019s the Android Device Manager unlock?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even though at first, it looks very complex, ADM is pretty easy to use. And once you get along with it, you will start wondering how could you live without it!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Android Device Manager is basically Google\u2019s response to Apple\u2019s Find My iPhone, as <\/span><b>it\u2019s able to help you find your device, but also ring it, lock it, or enable everything from it, in case of a loss or if it gets stolen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All these features are available if you log into ADM from your PC, by the way. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, one of the most useful things the Android Device Manager app can do is to <\/span><b>unlock your phone<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. No, we\u2019re not talking about network unlock this time, but bypassing pretty much any form of screen protection you have. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Basically, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you somehow forget the PIN, you can use your Google account to unlock it. The device will lead you through the process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I know, you\u2019re wondering why do you actually need to bypass your own phone\u2019s security. Well, we\u2019re all humans. Maybe you forget your PIN or pattern, or somebody thinks that it\u2019s funny to change all these for you, let you struggle with it. Before finding that somebody who did it and kicking their derriere for this, you can actually try this little trick!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P.S.: Even though it sounds great, it can\u2019t actually be done on any phone\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">P.P.S.: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I was locked out of my phone because I entered the pattern lock incorrectly too many times two years ago.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to enable Android Device Manager on my phone?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Technically speaking, <\/span><b>any phone running Android 4.4 KitKat and above is compatible with Android Device Manager<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but it doesn\u2019t work by default since <\/span><b>you have to make some initial adjustments<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in order to use it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11187\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/android-device-manager-unlock-1024x556.png\" alt=\"Android Device Manager unlock\" width=\"1024\" height=\"556\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/android-device-manager-unlock-1024x556.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/android-device-manager-unlock-150x81.png 150w, https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/android-device-manager-unlock-300x163.png 300w, https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/android-device-manager-unlock-768x417.png 768w, https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/android-device-manager-unlock.png 1679w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To be more specific, <\/span><b>you need to enable ADM<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, if you haven\u2019t done it previously. These are the steps you need to follow: <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Turn on Location Access <\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This can be done by going to Settings &gt; Location, then turning on the toggle. Make sure you choose High accuracy, as it\u2019s the best for finding your phone\u2019s location accurately. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enable Security Settings <\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Go to Settings &gt; Google &gt; Security and turn on the \u2018Remotely locate this device\u2019 option. This will allow Android Device Manager to see your phone\u2019s location. After this, also activate the \u201cAllow remove lock and erase\u201d option. It\u2019s very useful in case you lose your phone and want to wipe it completely. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Activate the Manager<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Go to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/android\/devicemanager\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/www.google.com\/android\/devicemanager<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Using your Google credentials, log in in your account and test it, by trying the location feature.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Note: In order for the Google Device Manager unlock, as well as the rest of the features to work properly, you need to <\/span><b>make sure that the GPS is turned on and you have an active Internet connection<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, whether it\u2019s through Wi-Fi or data. Also, don\u2019t forget about the operating system: if it\u2019s not Android 4.4 or above, the feature is not supported!<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to unlock your phone using Android Device Manager<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now that you\u2019re all set up, let\u2019s see how this entire process goes.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On a PC or a phone, go to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/android\/devicemanager\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">https:\/\/www.google.com\/android\/devicemanager<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using the same Google account you used for setting up your phone, sign in. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will see the ADM interface, as well as the device(s) using the same Google account which can be controlled. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select the one you want to unlock, by choosing the \u201cLock\u201d option. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A window will appear, asking you for a temporary password. There\u2019s no need to enter the recovery message. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click on \u201cLock\u201d again.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the process was successful, you will see a confirmation message, right under the box with the Ring, Lock and Erase buttons. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your phone should display a password field, where you need to enter the temporary password, which unlocks your phone. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Go to the phone\u2019s lock screen settings and disable the temporary password. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And you\u2019re all done! This is how the Android Device Manager unlock feature works. Pretty easy, isn\u2019t it?<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to unlock your Android lock screen pattern if you have an earlier version of Android<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re rolling old school and haven\u2019t updated your phone, you might be in luck, since there\u2019s a faster way of bypassing the lock screen pattern, without the Android Device Manager trick.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-11188 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/android-lockscreen-pattern-1024x713.jpg\" alt=\"Android Lockscreen Pattern\" width=\"1024\" height=\"713\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/android-lockscreen-pattern-1024x713.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/android-lockscreen-pattern-150x104.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/android-lockscreen-pattern-300x209.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/android-lockscreen-pattern-768x535.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/android-lockscreen-pattern.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here\u2019s what you need to do:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enter a wrong pattern five times<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After entering the 5th wrong pattern, you will see the \u2018Forgot pattern\u2019 option on the right side of the screen. Select it. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This will allow you to enter a backup PIN code or your Google login. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you don\u2019t have a backup PIN, enter the Google login, since it\u2019s definitely easy to remember. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tap \u201cSign in\u201d. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your phone should now be unlocked.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to bypass your lock screen using a Custom Recovery<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finally, we have a third variant of unlocking your phone\u2019s screen, in case you forget the PIN or the pattern, but <\/span><b>this is for the more advanced Android users<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. If you\u2019re familiar with rooting, then you will have no issues with it. If you\u2019re not&#8230;stick to the previous two. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This process involves having a custom recovery on your phone and a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/cant-move-apps-sd-card-android\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">microSD card<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. And no, you don\u2019t need the Google Android Device Manager at all!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ok, enough with the small talk and let\u2019s see what steps you need to follow:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Download the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/forum.xda-developers.com\/attachment.php?attachmentid=2532214&amp;d=1390399283\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pattern Password Disable .zip file<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on your PC. Do not worry, the file is secure since it\u2019s coming from XDA Developers. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Copy the file on your microSD card. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Insert the microSD card in your phone. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reboot the phone into Recovery Mode. Depending on your phone model, it can be done in various ways. You can find details about the process for each brand here. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Flash the .zip file from your microSD card. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reboot the phone. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your phone will now boot without any lock screen. Still, if it does have a lock screen, type a random password or pattern, as it will unlock.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After making some research across forums and other discussion boards, I\u2019ve come across <\/span><b>other methods as well<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, reported to be working. However, there\u2019s no guarantee that they will work for everybody.
