But, like most issues of this nature, there are some solutions for it, which you can quickly apply. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But before going to the solutions, let\u2019s see why this is actually happening. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Why is the Fast Charging feature not working?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Technically speaking, Fast Charging is relying on an increased limit of voltage, but it\u2019s not perfect. Some of the most common factors causing this feature to work improperly are the following: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using a third-party charger, without support for Fast Charging<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A faulty adapter<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A broken cable<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A dirty charging port<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A software glitch<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fast charging being disabled<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Except for the latter, none of this can be identified in just one step, so let\u2019s take each of them separately and see why Samsung\u2019s Fast Charger is not working and how you can solve this problem. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enable Samsung Fast Charging<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the first things you can do is check the phone\u2019s Settings menu and see if this feature is enabled or not. Some users reported that this is disabled after a software update, while some of them simply disable it by mistake. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Go to Menu &gt; Settings &gt; Battery and look for the Fast cable charging option. If it doesn\u2019t, try restarting the phone and plug it in again.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use just your Samsung phone\u2019s original charger (or a certified model)<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All manufacturers using this technology recommend relying only on the original charger for fast charging a smartphone. The idea is simple: a regular charger won\u2019t be able to amplify the charging power, so the charging times will be longer than usual. Also, you need to make sure that the wall charger has an output rating of at least 2 Amps, in order to get the best out of this technology. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In order to make sure that your charger is capable of Fast Charging, look at the text on it. In Samsung\u2019s case, it should have Adaptive Fast Charging written on it and look like this:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-12734 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/samsung-charger.jpg\" alt=\"Samsung charger\" width=\"615\" height=\"425\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/samsung-charger.jpg 615w, https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/samsung-charger-150x104.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/samsung-charger-300x207.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 615px) 100vw, 615px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> If it doesn\u2019t look like this, you\u2019re probably using a regular charger, hence your inability to charge your phone in less than an hour. On the other side, if you do have this type of charger and the problem is present, you can proceed to the next step. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check the USB cable for any problems<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">USB cables are some of the most \u2018abused\u2019 items and they tend to break down a lot. Still, this doesn\u2019t mean that a faulty USB cable will completely stop charging your phone, but it\u2019s enough for a connector to break down and you will see that your Samsung Fast Charger is not working anymore. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If possible, try another cable and see if the issue persists. If it does, it means that it\u2019s something else causing this.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Clean the charging port<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ignored by many users, this is actually a very common reason because of which your Samsung fast charger is not working. Therefore, the solution is really simple: check inside the port for anything that can interfere with the charging process, like lint, dirt or other debris. Follow these steps and you should be just fine:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use a light source (flashlight) and look inside the phone\u2019s charging port for any signs of foreign materials which can interrupt the charging<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If it\u2019s something there, turn out the phone and take a pair of tweezers or a toothpick<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Carefully insert it into the port and try picking out the dirt<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take a small cotton swab, with some rubbing alcohol on it, and let it sit in the port for a few moments<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Perform circular motions inside the port, in order to take out any dirt that\u2019s left<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wait for an hour, until the phone dries<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Connect the charger and see if Fast Charging is working properly now<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">See if this is caused by an app<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As mentioned above, this can be caused by a software glitch. Most likely, it\u2019s an app that you installed and messing with the phone\u2019s operating system, thus affecting its Fast Charging capabilities. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In order to figure out if it\u2019s this, you need to start the phone in Safe Mode, at first. <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Press and hold the Power Button for a few seconds. You should see the power options menu<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Long-press the Power off option<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will see a message, asking you if you want to reboot the phone in Safe Mode. Tap OK<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wait until the phone reboots. You should see Safe mode written in the bottom left corner of the screen<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plug in the charger and see if Fast Charging is now working properly. If it does, it means that one of the apps you installed recently is causing the issue, so proceed to uninstalling it. If it doesn\u2019t you can proceed to the next step. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Perform a Factory Reset<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If your Samsung\u2019s fast charger is not working even after trying all these fixes, you can try a Factory Reset. This will put the phone into its original state, by erasing everything you installed on it. Therefore, it\u2019s highly recommended to make a full backup of the data, in case you want to restore it. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After this, please follow the next steps: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Go to Settings &gt; Advanced Settings<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Look for Backup &amp; reset, then tap on it<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Look for Factory data reset, then tap on it<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tap on Reset phone<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wait for a few moments, until the phone restarts<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now that the phone is in its original state, you can try using Fast Charging and see if it works like it should. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re unlucky enough and it still doesn\u2019t respond, the only solution remains taking the phone to a service or even return it, so you can get a new one in exchange, if it\u2019s still covered by warranty.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By any means, don\u2019t try fixing it by yourself if you don\u2019t have the proper technical background since you can fully damage it and risk ending up with a bricked phone that\u2019s not covered by warranty anymore. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please let us know which one of these methods worked in your case!
