No matter the situation you are in, you most likely have some files you don\u2019t want anybody else to see. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One manufacturer thought about this and, with their flagship from 2014, the Galaxy S5, the Samsung Private Mode was introduced. Basically, it\u2019s a very convenient way to hide files you don\u2019t want others to access. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s definitely a very useful feature and if you had no idea that you can use it on your phone as well &#8211; as long as you own at least a Samsung Galaxy S5 &#8211; we\u2019ve put together a guide on how to use it. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to enable Samsung Private Mode on your smartphone<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On most phones, you can access this mode through the notifications menu, but if the icon is not present there, you can search through the menu. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Specifically, you need to follow these steps:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apps&gt; Settings &gt; Privacy and Safety. Here you will find the Private Mode option<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tap on it<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Look for a toggle in the upper right corner and tap on it<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From the Private Mode menu, tap on access type and choose PIN, password, fingerprint or pattern type. One of this will be the authentication method which allows you to be the only one to activate the mode.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And this is it, you have successfully managed to activate Samsung Private Mode. Just be aware of the fact that the path to it depends on your operating system, so you may need to go through different menus in order to find these options. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to use Samsung Private Mode<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now that you\u2019ve set it up, it\u2019s highly recommended it to move it to Quick Settings, for faster access and turning it on with just one tap. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After turning on Private mode, you can edit the access to some of your files from the Gallery, Videos, Music, Voice Recorder, My Files, or Internet apps. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Basically, if you want to hide them, so that nobody else can see them, enter one of these apps and follow the steps below: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select the items you want to hive. More than one can be selected at a time<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the top right corner, look for the More option. Tap on it<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This will reveal several new options. Look for Move to Private and tap on it<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12739\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/samsung-move-to-private.jpg\" alt=\"Samsung move to private\" width=\"1280\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/samsung-move-to-private.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/samsung-move-to-private-150x70.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/samsung-move-to-private-300x141.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/samsung-move-to-private-768x360.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/samsung-move-to-private-1024x480.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wait until the selected items are hidden<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Private Mode can be set to automatically turn off after the screen is off or you can opt to do this by tapping again the Private Mode button in Quick Settings. After exiting the mode, the hidden files won\u2019t be shown at all. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Is Samsung Private Mode a good security option?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Obviously, this is just an additional feature of your phone which, generally speaking, does the job.
