It was obvious what this thing is for, especially because the image was very suggestive.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-12870 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/phone-holder.png\" alt=\"Phone holder\" width=\"639\" height=\"426\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/phone-holder.png 725w, https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/phone-holder-150x100.png 150w, https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/phone-holder-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 639px) 100vw, 639px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Initially, I wanted to go over this and look for the charger I wanted, but then, it struck me. Basically, the idea behind these&#8230;accessories is simple: you can mount your phone on your steering wheel, when you\u2019re using the navigation, for easier music access or taking calls easily, if you\u2019re car doesn\u2019t have a hands-free kit. Ok, everything is good until now, just an innocent little plastic thingie, aiming to make using the phone while driving easier. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cUsing the phone while driving\u201d, exactly. Something which is actually forbidden by law. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But I just want to check the GPS and take calls!<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ok, I get the idea, but this can be done while using a totally different mount, like a model that sticks to your windshield or in your car\u2019s air vent. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you want to check the GPS, for example, while using a steering wheel phone holder, you need to move your sight from the road and look in the middle of the steering wheel. And you know what a second of not paying attention can do. Whether you\u2019re looking for directions or want to change the track, this holder totally distracts you. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the other side, if you have the phone on your windshield or in the air vent, it\u2019s a bit higher and you don\u2019t need to look down. I hope that everybody gets the idea. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But!, this is not the only danger of using a steering wheel phone holder.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some types of phone holders are placed directly on the airbag, like this one:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-12871 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/wheeldock.jpg\" alt=\"Wheeldock\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/wheeldock.jpg 620w, https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/wheeldock-150x84.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.unlockunit.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/wheeldock-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> If it deploys, in case of an unfortunate event, it can hit you directly. Airbags are known for deploying with a relatively big force, so imagine the impact a smartphone can have on your body. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This being said, the answer is \u2018no\u2019. \u2018NO\u2019, that is. Getting a steering wheel phone holder is far from being a great idea.
