To find out if your phone is Network Locked<\/span><\/a> to MetroPCS<\/strong>, you\u2019ll need a different SIM card (from a different network provider – NOT the Metro PCS one).<\/span><\/p>\n

There are 3 easy steps that you can follow:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Insert the “non-accepted SIM card” in the phone (Please make sure the new SIM Card is activated, if not contact the Mobile Operator that sold it to you) <\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Wait for the phone to load.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. If your SIM card has a PIN code (4 digits), you will need to insert it.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Afterward, if your phone displays one of the following messages, then you can be sure that your device is network locked:<\/p>\n

    “SIM Network Unlock PIN” or “<\/span>Network locked“<\/span><\/h3>\n

    All Metro PCS devices that have the release date before<\/strong> 1st March 2015<\/strong> can only be unlocked by an unlocking code<\/span>. Therefore, if you place an order for these devices, you will receive one or more unlocking codes.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Please note that in this case, you will need a different carrier SIM card (Not Metro PCS) inserted into the phone when entering the codes.<\/p>\n

    “This device can be remotely unlocked if eligible. Please use the \u2018Device Unlock Application\u2019 to unlock the device”<\/b><\/b><\/h5>\n

    \"Network-Locked-to-T-Mobile-USA\"<\/p>\n

    \u00a0All the Metro PCS devices that have the release date after <\/strong><\/span>1st March 2015<\/b> can only be unlocked through the<\/span> <\/span>Metro PCS Device Unlock App<\/b><\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

    For these handsets, the unlocking process is a bit different and doesn\u2019t require a code because there is no designated field in which the codes can be inserted. <\/span>Your device\u2019s IMEI will need to be registered as<\/span> Unlocked\/Eligible<\/strong>,<\/span><\/i> in Metro PCS\u2019s database and afterward, you are required to open the <\/span>Metro PCS Device Unlock App<\/b> and select the <\/span>Permanent Unlock<\/i><\/strong> option. Please note that in this case, the <\/span>Metro PCS SIM card<\/b> needs to be inserted into the phone before performing the unlocking process.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Your phone can be unlocked in both of the above-mentioned cases even if Metro PCS will tell you that you are required to wait for 90 days before the device becomes eligible for unlocking.<\/h6>\n
