Don’t be surprised if in a few months you’ll be watching Pawn Stars and see a guy coming in to trade one, followed by Rick or Corey not accepting it, due to the fact that it’s a fake.<\/p>\n

We’ve seen a lot of replicas\u00a0until now<\/strong> and some of them were actually pretty good, being hard to tell the differences<\/strong>. Still, nobody wants to waste $350 or even more on a smartwatch that’s not the real deal, that’s why you should buy one only from an official Apple Store<\/strong> or an authorized reseller.<\/p>\n

On the other sides, we’re sure that there are a lot of bargain hunters out there, always looking for a better price, which might end up buying the smartwatch from other places. In order to avoid unpleasant situations, we’ve put together a few tips on how to spot a fake Apple Watch<\/strong><\/span>, so you don’t end up with a cheap Chinese knock-off around your wrist.<\/p>\n

1. Check out the box<\/span><\/h2>\n

It’s as easy as this. You don’t even need to look at the actual device if the box doesn’t have that classic Apple look<\/strong>. And by classic, we mean plain white, black, blue, pink and so on, with round edges and a soft feel<\/strong><\/span>. Not to mention that the Apple logo should be on top,<\/strong> while information about the device is printed on the sides.<\/p>\n

2. Check the position of the Digital Crown<\/span><\/h2>\n

Ok, so let’s say that the box looks fine. In this case, it’s time to see how the watch looks. A distinctive design element is the Digital Crown<\/strong>, used to navigate through the menu. It should be placed on the top right side<\/strong> of the watch. On a fake Apple Watch, it can have different placements<\/strong>, basically screaming “don’t buy this c*ap” from all pores.<\/p>\n

3. Check the back of the watch<\/span><\/h2>\n

The original Apple Watch’s back cover is loaded with sensors<\/strong>, in order to provide accurate information about your workouts. As for a fake, we don’t know how it’s going to be able to do this, while most of them look like above.<\/p>\n

It’s enough to take a look at a few press images with the original device and you’ll see that the user interface is one of the trademark elements. Power up the watch you’re about to buy and see if it looks like in the image on the left. If it has a ridiculously low pixel density and it’s more like the one on the right, we have some bad news for you…<\/p>\n
