Blackberry does not ask for code

What do you do when your Blackberry does not ask for code?

It may happen that the Blackberry does not ask for the code and does not display the messages: ’’SIM Network Unlock PIN’’ or Enter Network Lock Control Key.

Nonetheless, in such cases when there is only the message “Network Locked” there are two simple methods you could choose from.

Firstly, you have to turn on the phone with a non-accepted sim card in it and follow the next path SETTINGS > ADVANCED OPTIONS > SIM CARD. Hereafter, 2 more actions are needed:

  1. Type MEPD using the keyboard (you can’t see anything typed on your screen);
  2. Type in MEP, hold ALT and press 2

Finally, another screen pops up for the 8 or 16 digits unlock code.

The second option is just slightly different. You also have to turn on the phone with a non-accepted sim card in it and follow the next path: OPTIONS > DEVICE SETTINGS > ADVANCED SYSTEM SETTINGS > SIM card. Henceforth, 2 more actions are needed:

  1. Type MEPD using the keyboard (you can’t see anything typed on your screen);
  2. Type in MEP, hold ALT and press 2

Now, after inserting the unlock code, the device should read “ Code Accepted “.
