How to check if your iPhone is Network Locked

How can you check if your iPhone is Network Locked

To find this out, you will need 2 different SIM Cards. One will be from the Mobile Provider you are currently using and one from the Mobile Provider that you want to use.

In order to check if indeed your iPhone is Network Locked there are certain actions that you have to perform:

  1. Make a phone call using the SIM card that you previously used. Make sure it connects.
  2. Power off the iPhone. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and use the Slide to Power Off option to switch off the iPhone.
  3. Use the SIM-card ejector tool (or a paperclip) to eject the SIM card from the iPhone.
  4. Insert your new SIM card (different from the one you placed a call with).
  5. Press the Sleep/Wake button to wake up the iPhone.
  6. Make a phone call. Check that the iPhone can connect a call using the new SIM card.

If the phone call does not connect with the new SIM card, then your iPhone is Network Locked. Otherwise, if the call does connect with the new SIM card, then the iPhone does not have a Network Lock installed and you can use it with any Mobile Operator you desire.
